What’s UHS HealthStream Even For Anyway?
So you work at UHS, or maybe just got hired. Congrats btw. But then someone says “go log in to your HealthStream account” and you’re just stuck there like, “bro where tho?”. First thing, HealthStream is used by Universal Health Services (aka UHS) staff to complete mandatory training, healthcare certifications, and sometimes even hospital orientation. Most of it’s boring but you still gotta do it.
The actual site for login might look different depending on the facility, but it’s usually something like uhs.healthstream.com
or a custom login page.
Where You Go To Log In
Don’t type random stuff on Google. You’ll get baited by junky lookalike sites. Just go directly to:
- Main UHS Login URL:
https://www.healthstream.com/hlc/uhs
- Some facilities also use internal intranet links instead, like from their employee portal or HR system.
If your hospital gave you a specific access code or URL, always use that. Otherwise the general one works for most folks.
Your Login Details (Don’t Overthink It)
Here’s what usually happens:
- Username = your Employee ID
- Password = something you got via email or HR when you first joined
- If you’re new, the password might just be
uhs
+ last 4 of SSN (not always tho, don’t quote me)
Some systems use Active Directory so your same login from your work computer also works here. You’ll know it if it just logs you in magically.
What To Do When It Just Breaks (Cuz It Will Eventually)
UHS HealthStream sometimes acts up. You’ll click and nothing loads. Or it logs you out every 4 seconds. Or worse: “invalid credentials”. What that mean is:
- Clear your browser cache. Not joking. It helps sometimes.
- Try using Chrome or Edge, not Safari (that one acts weird)
- If you forgot password, click forgot password (yes, obvious)
- Or email your facility’s HealthStream Admin – every hospital got one, just nobody tells you who
- Still no go? Call IT Help Desk (some UHS locations use UHS ServiceNow too)
Stuff You’ll Do Once Logged In
Once you’re finally inside, here’s what you’ll see:
- A dashboard full of overdue trainings
- Compliance modules (HIPAA, infection control, harassment, etc)
- CEU credits if you’re clinical staff
- Option to print certificates (you’ll need them eventually, keep PDFs)
- Assignments from your manager – some of them got due dates
And yeah, you gotta finish them before your evaluation, or they’ll annoy you weekly.
Extra Tips Nobody Tells You
- Mobile app? Nope. HealthStream got one, but UHS usually disables that. Use a computer.
- Don’t skip training. UHS audits them. Yes they really check.
- If your course freezes, just refresh and login again – usually resumes where you left off
- Need proof of completion? Go to My Transcript > Completed section
- Got multiple UHS jobs? You might have more than one account, weirdly
UHS HealthStream vs Workday vs Kronos vs Everything Else
Some folks get confused between HealthStream, Workday, and Kronos:
System | What It Does |
---|---|
HealthStream | Trainings & certifications |
Workday | HR stuff – paystubs, benefits |
Kronos | Time clock, shifts, PTO tracking |
They’re all separate systems, even though UHS uses them all together. Login info might be same or different.
Final Word Before You Rage Quit
The UHS HealthStream login stuff ain’t really hard once you get it working. It just looks confusing the first time. Bookmark the login page. Save your password somewhere that won’t get hacked. And finish your trainings before you get those warning emails.
Also, don’t wait until 11:59PM on the last day. The server crashes hard when every nurse in the country tries logging in at once 😭
